Having finally given up and purchased a new laptop, I was soon disappointed to find out that it also started to run slow after a few months. Just booting it up felt like it took an hour (though more like 5 minutes).

I found myself constantly having free time just because my laptop was opening or closing a program forever. I did some research on the internet and tried several free programs that were supposed to free up my ram, clean my hard drive, and help me decide what programs should start when I booted my computer up.

All of the programs had their benefits but none made a real impact on the lag time I was constantly facing. After a couple of hours, I gave up and wondered about trading my new laptop.

I spent the next few days looking at my options, selling my laptop, buying a new one, giving it to my children or maybe getting a new operating system. The fact that I had a 3 GB of ram and a 120 GB hard drive that was barely used; I knew memory wasn’t my problem.

After thoroughly cleaning my registry, I was back in business. My new laptop ran just like it was supposed to be - like new. I no longer had any lagging, and my boot up was much faster.
