How to Clean the Registry

I was in the middle of writing a ten page paper for my college class when I finally got so fed up with my slow running computer I quickly shut it off and stormed out of the library. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating it is when you can't even perform a simple task on your computer.

After calming down and realizing that getting so angry about my slow computer wasn't going to fix it; I decided to troubleshoot as to why it was so slow. After Googling why computers run slow I came to the conclusion that most likely it was registry error problem.

So of course being the believable person I am I downloaded a registry cleaner for about $20. Ran the cleaner, told me it fixed X amount of issues, still no improvement.

At this point I wanted to give up.

I gave the computer to the IT center at my school and they said come back in a day. Next day I returned to a greatly improved computer, it was like a different laptop. I asked them what was wrong and they really didn't have many answers other than a few viruses. They completely rebooted my computer and reinstalled windows.
